Our Services

The Anywhere Vet currently offers two main services:

​

1. House call appointments for veterinary wellness, urgent care illnesses and injuries, at-home euthanasia, and elective surgeries (including spays, neuters, and lump removals).

​

2. Transportation between veterinary hospitals for patients requiring oxygen supplementation, continuous monitoring, or supportive care en route.

What kinds of illnesses and injuries are considered urgent?​​

  • Mild/moderate limb lameness without obvious signs of instability (that would suggest a fracture or dislocation is present)

  • Superficial skin wounds or abrasions

  • Ear infections

  • Skin infections, pruritus (itchiness), hot spots

  • Mild/moderate or intermittent vomiting and/or diarrhea without other signs of systemic illness (such as weakness or loss of appetite)

  • Mild/moderate respiratory signs (coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, congestion

Urgent Care House Call Appointments

If your pet is experiencing any of the following,

please seek emergency veterinary care!

  • Weakness, collapse, or "passing out"

  • Discolored gum color (pale/white, grey/blue, or yellow)

  • Labored breathing

  • Seizures or disorientation

  • Severe, prolonged, or bloody vomiting and/or diarrhea, especially if your pet is unable or unwilling to eat and/or drink anything

  • Unexplained or inappropriate bruising or bleeding of the skin or gums

  • Moderate to severe trauma:​

    • Blunt force trauma (i.e., hit by car)

    • Head trauma

    • Suspected limb fractures or dislocations

  • Wounds:

    • Large in size or penetrating through the skin, exposing deeper tissue

    • Present over the abdomen or chest

    • Contaminated with dirt, debris, hair, etc.

    • Actively bleeding

Elective Surgeries

We perform a variety of elective (non-emergent) surgeries on dogs (< 80lbs) and cats, including:​​​

  • Amputation (digit, limb, or tail)

  • Cystotomy (urinary bladder stone removal)

  • Entropion repair

  • Enucleation

  • Episioplasty

  • Femoral head ostectomy (FHO)

  • Gastropexy

  • Mass removal (lumpectomy)

  • Orchiectomy (neuter)

  • Ovariohysterectomy (OVH, or spay)

  • Splenectomy

  • Stenotic nares surgery

We are also able to perform many urgent and non-elective surgeries, including c-sections, GI foreign body removals (gastrotomy, enterotomy, and/or small intestinal R&A), laceration/wound repairs,  and a variety of other procedures. As a fully-equipped mobile veterinary hospital, the Anywhere Vet is able to transport patients requiring continuous monitoring or supportive care, including oxygen supplementation. This service is available to veterinary hospitals within the DC-Annapolis-Baltimore area.
